Everything here is general information about real estate and lending. It isn't financial, legal or tax advice, and it isn't a recommendation about your circumstances, because I don't know them yet. Talk to me, and talk to your own accountant or attorney, before you act on anything you read here.

Every loan is subject to credit approval, underwriting, property appraisal and the lender's terms. Rates and programs change constantly and none are guaranteed until they are locked in writing.

Reverse mortgages specifically

A reverse mortgage is a loan, not a government benefit or a grant. The HECM program is insured by the FHA and regulated by HUD. Borrowers must keep up property taxes, homeowner's insurance and maintenance, and must keep living in the home as their principal residence. My free class is education. Nobody is sold anything during it or after it.
